- matralab Research Programme in Interdisciplinary and Intercultural Art Practice and Theory, based on three research axes: Comprovisation, Staging Spaces, Understanding Heterogeneity. Multiple projects with academic and community partners, extensive international collaboration (Principal Investigator / funded by Canada Research Chair Program 2006-2012)
- Racines Éphémères Creation of a musical composition, a theatre work and an interactive net art work based on the analysis of gestures and accent structures in interviews with displaced and persecuted persons in Montreal (see Life Stories Project below) (Principal Investigator / funded by FQRSC Nouveaux Chercheurs-Createurs 2008-2011)
- Native Alien Development of an interactive music environment based on real-time computer improvisation and interactive scores, with musicians such as Rohan de Saram, Lori Freedman, Guy Pelletier, David Rosenboom, Wu Wei, Dhruba Ghosh, Amelia Cuni, Vinny Golia and others (Principal Investigator / funded by FQRSC Appui a la Recherche-Creation 2009-2012)
- Life Stories of Montrealers displaced by War, Genocide, and Human Rights Abuses I am co-applicant and member of the Oral History Performance Cluster within this Community/University Research SSHRC grant (2007-2012), a large scale collection of video interviews and their concomitant analysis.(Principal Investigator: Canada Research Chair Steven High)
- World Wide Roots I won a project competition looking for music projects that bridge New Music and local communities. My project will be situated in a small, globally operating manufacturing company in Southern Germany, where, interacting with workers and management, I will install sound installations based on the life and musical imagination of the employees, creat interactive composition websites and conduct a daily composition performance project in the factory itself. (Principal Investigator / funded by the Government of Baden-Württemberg and private sponsors, 2010)
- Nexus wireless network music for 5 instrumental performers moving within in public spaces and a central performance venue (Principal Investigator / funded by Concordia University, 2010)
- Rasalila long-term research/creation project of inter-musical exchange between contemporary Indian and Western Art Musics. With musicians such as Shubha Mudgal, Dhruba Ghosh, Uday Bhawalkar, Aneesh Pradhan, Ashok Ranade, and Ganesh Anandan as well as the Ensemble Modern Frankfurt (Principal Investigator / 2001-ongoing, funded by numerous public and private sponsors)
- numerous funded commissions from Canada, Germany, Netherlands and Austria.
