Monique Martin, pianist, conductor and composer holds master's degrees in piano performance, orchestra conducting and harmony. 
 
She first received her training at the Conservatoire de musique de Montréal where she completed a master's degree in piano performance. Then in New York City at the Juilliard School of Music and the Manhattan School of Music, she pursued her studies in piano, chamber music, choral conducting, vocal accompaniment and opera coaching. 
 
Then followed four years of training in Orchestra conducting, where she completed a master's degree at the Conservatoire de musique de Montréal.  She also studied in the United States and Europe with renowned maestros such as Charles Bruck, Otto Werner-Mueller, Georg Tintner, Gustav Meier and Jorma Panula. 
 
Most recently, she completed a D.E.S.S in film scoring at l'Université du Québec à Montréal. (UQAM) 
 
At Concordia University since 1989, she has taught ear-training, harmony, counterpoint  and chamber ensembles. She also conducted the chamber choir (2000-2004) and the Orchestra. (1999-2008) 
 
A part-time faculty member, Music department, at UQAM since 1988, Ms. Martin has also taught at the Conservatoire de musique de Trois-Rivières (1979-1983).
 
Musical director of many ensembles, she is invited in Canada and in Europe to conduct symphonic works as well as operas.
