A music recital series was established 2010 - 2011 at Fulford Residence (on Guy just south of Ste-Catherine) by Prof. Helene Gagné and Josée Desjardins. This is an exciting new link for Music Concordia, a nearby place where students can gain performance experience while giving great joy to some of our closest and neediest neighbours. Congratulations and thanks are due to both Helene and Josée for having set this up.
JULY
Congratulations to Music Concordia students who appeared in the Montreal Jazz Festival: Myriam Bleau leading her group The Fleishmarket Trio; and the Concordia University Jazz Sextet (Supervising Prof. Charles Ellison).
AUGUST
Piper Alan Jones has been playing up a storm--on Highland pipes, Irish pipes, other instruments, and singing traditional Celtic music--at many festivals and events both out of town and in, including a main-stage appearance at the prestigious Highland Games on July 31.
