Concordia Music Department's Chair and Associate Professor Ricardo Dal Farra will deliver a paper about "Teaching Electroacoustic Music and Media Arts" at the Electroacoustic Music Studies Network (EMS 2010) International Conference. The EMS 2010 will be held at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music in China from June 21-24.
The EMS Network has been organised to fill an important gap in the study of electroacoustic music by focusing on better understanding its various manifestations. Areas of study range from the musicological to more interdisciplinary approaches, from the impact of technology on musical creativity to the investigation of the ubiquitous nature of electroacoustic sounds today. The choice of the word 'network' is of fundamental importance. One of the goals of EMS is to make relevant initiatives more widely available.
