Concordia's FOFA Gallery will be hosting a round table discussion called
Dissemination Textures with moderator Jake Moore in its Main Gallery Space.
The panelists will address the
theme by exploring how the crossover
between new technologies and earlier practices ultimately result in the
telling of stories. Through image, sound and discussion, the panel will
look at how these stories end up being told and how these new ways of
telling are allowing us to hear each other better.
Taking part in the discussion will be Ricardo Dal Farra (Chair and Associate Professor, Department of Music, Concordia University); Dr. Steven High (Canada Research Chair in Public History, Associate Professor, Department of History, Concordia University); and Andrea L. Kuchembuck (Assistante de recherche Comité de Documentation et Archivistique Alliance de recherche DOCAM, la fondation Daniel Langlois pour l'art, la science et la technologie).
Ricardo Dal Farra's research focuses on documentation and preservation of Latin American electroacoustic music heritage, multimedia communication, digital arts resources and virtual communities. Dr. Steven High is Tier 2 Canada Research Chair in Public History and Co-Director of the Center for Oral History and Digital Storytelling. Andrea Kuchembuck is Research Assistant for the DOCAM (Documentation and Conservation of the Media Arts Heritage) Alliance.
