Nasyr Abdul Al-Khabyyr featured at film festival

 
A_Drummers_Dream_6.720x405.jpgConcordia Music Professor Nasyr Abdul Al-Khabyyr is featured in the documentary "A Drummer's Dream," voted second audience favourite of 170 films at the Hot Docs Festival in Toronto.

The film documents seven of the world's master drummers, including Abdul Al-Khabyyr, as they get together on a farm in backwoods Ontario to help young musicians connect with the rhythms of nature. Powerful performances are featured in rock, jazz, Latin, fusion, and soul genres, including a final jam session with both teachers and students.

Professor Abdul Al-Khabyyr has played drums for Dizzy Gillespie and Oliver Jones.
