Music event sets record

60x60 Dance: The Order of Magnitude, presented during Congress 2010, has set a Universal Record Database record for the most composers programmed in a single show when 600 international composers were programmed into a one event.

The 60x60 event was held at the FOFA Gallery during Congress on Sunday, May 30, 2010 from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Involving 600 composers and 40 dancers in ten continuous hours of music, dance and video (all pieces were one minute in length and performed without pause), the project brought together artists of different practices, media, styles and experience in collaborative contemporary art-making.  Visitors were able to walk into the gallery at any time during the day to experience the performance in part or in full.

Since 2006, 60x60 has been presented in over 200 concerts, shows and multimedia installations worldwide. Music professor Eldad Tsabary is artistic director of the Canadian 60x60 project.
