2011 Peter Mendell Award

The $2,500 award of excellence will be awarded to a student of the violin, viola, cello, or bass enrolled as a full-time student in one of Montreal's four universities (Concordia University, McGill University, Université de Montréal or Université du Québec à Montréal), all cycles or the Conservatoire de musique du Quebec à Montreal, third, fourth, and fifth cycles. The applicant must be 25 years old or less on May 1, 2011.

The scholarship will be awarded to a student whose artistic excellence
has been recognized by the jury following a blind audition process of a
recent sound recording submitted by the applicant and who has received a
recommendation from his or her instrument teacher.

The application deadline is May 1, 2011; only duly completed
applications will be considered.
