BALANCE - UNBALANCE [art + science x technology = environment / responsibility] international colloquium
Where: Centro Cultural Borges in Buenos Aires, Argentina
When: Tuesday, December 7, 2010
A day of reflection, debate and promotion of projects and actions in reference to the environment and our responsibility regarding the turning point we are living in defining the future of life on Earth. This colloquium seeks to bring together artists, scientists, philosophers, politicians, sociologists, technology specialists and policy-makers, so we can deepen the necessary discussion that could allow us to act and react to the challenges of our environmental crisis.
Structured around four thematic areas: water, land, air and fire, the colloquium proposes to address issues such as: climate change, biodiversity, water supply, air quality and food chain. In no way is this intended to be an exhaustive list but only a first approach to invite participation from a variety of perspectives.
Within the Colloquium we want to give significant space to artists, with the intention that through their contributions, initiatives and projects, they could help society to understand the magnitude of the crisis we are facing and could also bring proposals to produce changes both at the micro and the macro level, related to the decisions and policies that influence our chances for the future.
The Chair of the BALANCE - UNBALANCE international colloquium is Dr. Ricardo Dal Farra, who will be also delivering a paper and coordinating some of the round table debates during the event.
